In this edition of HAPPI Chat, we sat down with Connie Chedester, Family Nurse Practitioner, to learn more about her journey into healthcare, what inspires her, and why she's proud to serve patients at our St. Clair location.
A Passion for Prevention
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Connie worked as a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse. After earning her Family Nurse Practitioner degree through a Boston-based program, she expanded her career to care for patients of all ages.
With more than seven years of experience as a nurse practitioner, Connie has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, giving her the opportunity to care for everyone from children to adults.
Her passion for preventive care is deeply personal.
"I've seen so many people in my family with preventable conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. I want to help people avoid going down the same path and stay as healthy as they can for as long as they can."
Finding a Home in Huntsville
Connie and her family have lived throughout the East Coast as her husband's career took them from place to place. About six years ago, they settled in Huntsville—and she's loved calling the Rocket City home ever since.
Today, she's proud to care for patients right here in the community she now calls home.

For Connie, healthcare is about much more than treating illness. It's about building relationships, encouraging healthy habits, and helping patients feel supported throughout every stage of life.
"My goal is to help my patients be as happy and as healthy as they can for as long as they can."
